NW Regional Final 2020

Feb 25, 2020

We arrived in Blackpool at 9am ready for the band’s final rehearsal in the pouring rain (nobody won the prize for spotting the tower first, it was too cloudy to see).

After the rehearsal, the band were drawn 12th in the 1st Section which meant the band packed up at the rehearsal room and headed straight to the Winter Gardens and the changing rooms to get ready for the performance.

At about 1pm we went on stage and performed the Test Piece-  Legacy, by Tom Davoren.

The band performed brilliantly with beautiful solo performances from all the soloists (including our principal cornet Nadia, who got a mention on 4bars rest).

Then, after a quick drink in the bar, it was back to the hall for the results. Marple came 14/16 bands and secured enough points to stay in the 1st Section next year, along with some of the best bands in the North West.
