A beautiful autumn day with the biggest turnout ever to commemorate Remembrance Sunday. Mike Jackson (President of The Marple Band) laid the wreath for The Marple Band.
“It was an honour and a privilege to lay the wreath of remembrance on behalf of the Band at Marple Memorial Park on Sunday.
The Band has provided the music for this occasion for well over 60 years, during which time there have been occasions when we have got through on a wing and a prayer.
It was great to see such a good turnout, especially from our young members, and as ever a good backup from the Old Brigade. When the service was over the number of people who complimented the band was indeed numerous, with a special mention of the playing of the Last Post by Andy.
