My granddaughter and I spent an enjoyable evening on Saturday listening to The Marple Brass Band playing at St Paul’s Church, Compstall. It was a brilliant choice of program, with something for everyone including film, opera and marches, including a modern take on Beethoven.
All soloist were superb, my granddaughter especially enjoyed Somewhere Over the Rainbow played by Solo Horn, from her favourite film the Wizard of Oz. We had a great view of all the band from the gallery, where we could see the players performing together, it was wonderful to watch the percussion, basses and trombones in action.
A fantastic evening, looking forward to more concerts by The Marple Band.
