Band News Update

Feb 1, 2020

We have been extremely fortunate to have been the recipients of a few grants at the end of 2019 and the start of 2020.

Grants

Forever Manchester – has supported us with our free Community Xmas Concert which enabled us to give all children a free present from Santa and helped with ensuring that the room was festively decorated. We were also able to fit out Santa and his elves.

The Co-operative – Marple Co-op have chosen to support us as one of their local charities and so members of the Co-op can go online to nominate us to receive the 1% charity donation that is made by the Co-op whenever you use your membership card. We are part of the Co-op community funding from October 27th 2019 to October 24th 2020.

Foyles Foundation – Have given us a massive boost with a £5,800 grant towards new instruments, music scores and uniform jackets.

National Lottery 25th Birthday Grant – We applied for money to cover the costs of putting on our free concerts in Spring and Autumn at the Methodist Church and were successful in a random draw that they made. This will cover all our out-of-pocket expenses.

We would like to extend a massive thank you to these organisations without whom we would be struggling to pay for the resources required to run the band and to maintain our new position in the 1st Section.

BAND SUPPORTERS (Previously known as VPs)

We are as always, indebted to our band supporters who help us financially to maintain the upkeep of the band. If you would like to become a band supporter please contact our secretary.
