The Marple Band are delighted to inform you that we have appointed Steve Sutton as our new Musical Director

Congratulations to our new younger members of the band who did an amazing job at their very first 1st Section competition.

After the storms and horrific weather of recent weeks, The Marple Band’s day trip to Blackpool seemed calm and relaxing by comparison

As the weather gets colder, and the body (especially the lip) gets wearier…it can be a bit of a mission to force myself into leaving the cosy house and attending the last of multiple carolling gigs.

The Co-Op has given us a lot of support and through their community fund, we have purchased a new set of uniforms for the band.

This weekend I joined the Marple Band for their first carolling gigs of the season.

After a year’s break due to lockdown, it was wonderful to be once again a part of the Remembrance Sunday service.

The 2021 Marple Band Social event at Mellor and Townscliffe Golf club was a well-attended and very enjoyable event.

We would like to say a massive thank you to ‘The Marple Exploring Arts Group’ who kindly donated £1465 of their funds to the band to help replace a euphonium.

The Marple Band were delighted to perform at their first official event since March 2020 on Sunday 11th July and the sun shone all afternoon to make it a memorable return to brass banding.
